- •Full consent to a 40-minute audio-recorded interview
- •Visited a nature reserve, country park, or park within the past 3 months from the curated list of accessible green spaces
- •Internet access for online interviews
- Exclusion criteria
- •History of severe mental illness, cognitive impairments, or terminal illness and seeking social care support from services.
- •Lack of capacity to consent
- •No recent engagement with relevant green spaces
- * Blue spaces, playgrounds, sports fields, hazardous woodlands, cemeteries, amenity green spaces, and exercise-only routes are excluded to minimise confounds.
- Green Space Definition and Selection
- The study focuses on biodiverse, ecologically managed and accessible green spaces (e.g., nature reserves, country parks, and parks) recognised for their restorative potential.
- Data sources
- The London Datastore informs site selection: Spaces to Visit Dataset (GLA, 2022) and Greenspace Information for Greater London (GLA, 2022), with examples including Blackheath Society Conservation Area, Lesnes Abbey Wood, and Mayesbrook Park, to mention a few. A list of curated accessible green spaces will be forwarded to participants with some photos to spark reflection before interviews.
