Emotional Intelligence & Parenting Styles

17 July 2016

The aim of this study is to explore the relationship of emotional development and parenting styles, namely looking at how an individual’s perception’s of their parents ‘parenting styles’ relates to emotional intelligence (EI) levels. This will help us to develop better understanding of how parenting styles contribute to emotional intelligence development, and in turn demonstrate how parenting can be an intervention target to improve EI and prevent negative consequences associated with low EI.
