CODA Study: Comorbid Obesity & Depression with Anti-inflammatory Medication

Are you living with obesity and currently taking antidepressant medication that you feel isn’t really helping?
Researchers at King’s College London are investigating how an anti-inflammatory medication called minocycline can work as an antidepressant in some people with depression – and we need your help.
Participants can earn up to £90 for their time. An additional £40 can be earned for completing the 2 optional MRI brain scans.
Requirements
- Aged 18 or older.
- Current diagnosis of depression.
- Living with obesity (i.e., a body mass index equal to 30kg/m2 or higher).
- Currently taking an anti-depressant medication.
- Felt insufficient response to two other anti-depressant medications.
- Not currently taking antibiotics, antipsychotics, blood thinners, or anti-inflammatory medications.
- Able to take minocycline for 8 weeks
- (optional) Able to undergo 2 MRI brain scans.
