The CoolBAT study
19 January 2024
This study aims to increase knowledge of brown adipose tissue (BAT) in overweight individuals.
BAT produces heat by using the body’s white fat stores, and activation may help people avoid becoming overweight.
We are recruiting healthy volunteers aged 20-46 years with a BMI of 25-36 kg/m2.
Participants will wear cooling garments during two morning study visits. Undergoing magnetic resonance imaging and thermography before/after cooling.
