Eye Movements and Reading in Dyslexic Readers

This is an eye-tracking study looking at how adults with dyslexia process natural texts. We would like to particularly investigate additional processing load and eye-movement pattern that readers have when encountering ambiguous words in text, with this study, the relationship between reading time, eye-movement, and ambiguity could be studied.

Requirements

  • Have dyslexia
  • 18-40 years old
  • Native-level English proficiency (or have 10+ years English speaking experience)
  • Normal or corrected-to-normal vision (glasses or preferably contact lenses)
  • No history of significant hearing loss or neurological disease

This study has received ethical approval from the UCL Department of Psychology Ethics Committee (approval number: EP/2021/015).

Hello, thank you for being interested in this study! I am a Master’s student at University College London (UCL), studying Language Sciences, I am currently conducting my dissertation (supervised by Dr. Adam Parker) on eye movements in adults with dyslexia or self-identified reading difficulties.
