Connecting Urban Communities with Location-Based Games

This study is for individuals or friends who take public transit at least 4x/week. You will play a location-based game on your mobile phone over a 4-week period. During this time, we’ll ask you to play the game during your routine transit commute and complete a weekly questionnaire. At the end, we’ll interview you for less than 30 minutes about your experience. Anybody over 18 years of age can participate but needs to reside in Greater Vancouver.
Requirements
- Must take public transit in the Greater Vancouver Regional District minimum 4x/week
- Must have own mobile phone
- Age 18+

About the researcher
Carolyn Pang is a doctoral candidate at Simon Fraser University's School of Interactive Arts and Technology. Her dissertation draws on literature from the fields of social computing and urban informatics to understand how location-based technologies impact the human experiences of those living in metropolitan cities.
