Tai Chi training - Call for participants

16-form Tai Chi has been created to enhance ankle function. Simplified Tai Chi for strong ankles awaits you. Come join us to embark on your Tai Chi journey!
The study involves:
4-week Tai Chi training, 3 times per week, 1 hour each
3 times assessments about ankle-related function, including muscle activation, muscle strength, proprioception and balance performance

Requirements

  • Male and Female
  • Aged 18 - 40 years old
  • Had ankle sprain before
  • Feel ankle unstable
  • No previous fractures or surgeries on the lower limbs

This study received the approval of the Loughborough University Ethics Committee (Ethics number: 17526).

About the researcher

The training programme will be led by a diverse team consisting of four members. Two members will primarily be responsible for implementing the training. One experienced Tai Chi instructor will lead the 16-form Tai Chi training, with 10 years of experience in Tai Chi , possessing backgrounds in rehabilitation nursing and sports biomechanics. The other has 6 years of experience in Tai Chi and physiotherapy certification. They are certified in first aid and capable of handling emergencies. The remaining two members will supervise the progress. One is a clinical expert in sports medicine, while the other is an expert in sports medicine and biomechanics.
