CHAIN 2: Concurrent multi-organ responses to chronic physical activity
28 March 2024
Biological processes that underpin the relationship between physical activity levels and health are not clear. Addressing these knowledge gaps has been recognised as vital to assist scientists and medical doctors working in the fields of human chronic diseases and aging to help more adults reach old age in better health and maintain a good quality of life. Therefore, we wish to examine the effect of 6 months of regular exercise in sedentary middle aged people on how their body functions.
Requirements
- Overweight (BMI 25-35 kg/m²) and aged between 55-65 years
- Not actively involved in exercise training
- Walk <5,000 steps/day
- Have >8 hours of sitting down a day.
